"Raining on the Sunshine" is the debut solo album released by New Orleans native, Mark "Byrdawg" Dillon. From an early age, he absorbed rhythm & blues, soul, funk and inspiration from his rich cultural surroundings. Byrdawg developed his own voice and distinctive style, incorporating his range of vocal abilities, moving from laid-back sultry haunting songs to rolling rhythmic gumbos drawn from his environment and the artists he admired. Last year he began recording his songs with producer Brian Stoltz, a legendary guitarist and Grammy-Nominated Artist whose diverse credits include The Neville Brothers, The Funky Meters, Dr. John, Bob Dylan, who has produced Sonny Landreth, Art Neville, and The Wild Magnolias. The chemistry was immediate and profound, drawing Meters bassist George Porter Jr. (Robert Palmer, The Funky Meters, Paul McCartney), Nick Daniels (Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, Etta James, Neville Brothers) to join in the recording process.
